These are not mandatory purchases as everyone may have their preferences however we are extremely care with nutrition and growing habits and have gathered a list of kibbles and additional information that has helped us over the last 16 years of raising Saints! Feel free to ask any questions!
The links listed below are simply links to who we order from directly! You are not obligated to order from the company we listed as these can be located at any distributor.
Kibble
We do not support grain free kibbles due to various concerns with DCM which is not covered under our health guarantee due to it being a condition associated with grain free diets.
RAW diet in growing puppies, especially giant breed puppies is a concern as we have seen many large/giant breed puppies experience growth set backs due to voids in nutrition. If you absolutely have to feed RAW, please deo so after 24 months where you wont have to worry about voiding your health guarantee. Please keep in mind, nutrition, environment and genetics all play a roll in your developing puppy. You will want to provide the best nutrition and environment possible to ensure your puppy continue to properly flourish!
Treats & Enrichment
The options on this subject are endless! Here are a few things we take advantage of to help keep our Saints mentally stimulated where voids in stimulation may be present! Some of these options also help keep those teeth and gums healthy! Dental health is a crucial part in maintaining overall health. Natural, single ingredient treats are my favorite however it is nice to provide other healthy and nutrient rich treats to our best pals.
I am a huge fan of lick mats, concocting new ways to make my dogs work for their meals all while helping them mentally release pent up energy as a mentally stimulated dog is a happy dog and that dog will be a much better behaved dog.
NO RAWHIDE. NO SMOKED/COOKED BONES, LIMIT ARTIFICIAL TREATS/BISCUITS.
We LOVE various animal parts such as raw bone cute to the appropriate size for your dog, bullysticks, trachea, freeze fried liver, freeze dried fish, the list goes on and we are always happy to help out where we can!
In my lick mats, frozen bowls, slow feeders etc., I like to use Kefir, single ingredient food toppers, bone broth(chicken/beef), greek yogurt, raw eges, scrambled eggs, dog friendly peanut butter, pureed fruits/veggies, blueberries, strawberries, the list goes on! These are simply helpful tips to keep you and your puppy sane as it has really helped me manage my pack of dogs and ensure everyone is happy and healthy!
